Rural Outreach Center seeks social worker
The Rural Outreach Center (ROC), an East Aurora-based nonprofit organization dedicated to ending rural poverty in southern Erie County and surrounding areas and assisting, empowering and elevating individuals to self-sufficiency, is seeking a part-time social worker to join its dedicated staff.
The ROC offers general counseling, mental health and substance abuse counseling, play therapy, multiple support groups and many other services through partner organizations. The person selected for this position will conduct individual intakes, provide case management in home and office settings, and will work with individuals to establish goals and objectives with the ultimate goal to reach a higher level of stability and independence.
Candidates should have a passion for working in rural communities; familiarity with services in Western New York’s rural areas is desirable. Other requirement include good communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to work as a team player and to work independently. A driver’s license is also required.
This position offers the potential for growth, with supervision by LCSW offered towards advancement in licensing. Candidates may be asked to submit to a background check and substance abuse screening before being hired.
A BSW with experience will be the minimum educational requirement for this position, with a MSW and licensure preferred. The salary will be based upon experience. This position has the potential to go full-time.
