Interning at The ROC
Internships are a vital component of The ROC's work. Every year, we welcome interns to join us as a part of their learning journeys. If you are interested in learning more about being an intern at The ROC, please select the appropriate contact below based on your field of study.
Internship Contacts

Programs
Nichole Barrett, our program director, manages internship requests for undergraduate and graduate students in non-social work programs who are interested in learning more about working directly with children and families.

Social Work
Kelsey Welgoss, our clinical director, manages internship requests for MSW students looking to find their first or second field placements. MSW interns at The ROC gain experience working directly with children and families.

Public Health
Dr. Frank Cerny, our executive director and founder, manages internship requests for all public health students and those in related fields who are looking to learn about broader efforts to address health related social needs.
What to Expect
When you reach out to any of the above internship contacts, please make sure to include your full name, your school and degree program, when your internship starts and ends, and the number of hours you will need to complete. This helps us determine if we are a good fit for your needs at that time. The person you are contacting may request additional information, such as a resume, or ask to speak with you over the phone.
Please note that any all interns working directly with any of The ROC’s Participants will be asked to complete a background check and be fingerprinted, as required by our NYS licensing body. You will also need to complete required trainings.
