ROC receives grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities
McDonald’s franchise owner Joe Ferrino, left, recently presented a check for $3,500 on behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY to Frank Cerny, executive director of the Rural Outreach Center (ROC) in East Aurora. The funds will support the ROC’s outreach to and support of children, including the play therapy, winter readiness and back-to-school backpack programs. Part of the ROC’s strategic plan is to focus on children to break the cycle of generational poverty.
The grant monies used to support this award were raised through the efforts of McDonald’s restaurants in the Western New York community, and in part by national McDonald’s promotional programs. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides lodging, comfort and emotional support to families of children receiving medical treatment at area hospitals, and reaches out to families in the community by supporting programs that benefit children.
