The Children’s Guild Foundation provides The Rural Outreach Center with $170,000 over two years for mental health clinical support.
The Rural Outreach Center (ROC) received a grant from The Children’s Guild Foundation in the amount of $170,000, to be split evenly over two years. This grant will fund mental health clinical support at The ROC, with the majority of funding to be spent on funding a clinical social worker position. The grant will ensure that The ROC can provide more rural families and children with evidence-based, trauma-informed care, all while complying with the standards of the New York State Office of Mental Health. The grant also provides The ROC with the opportunity to start training other rural providers in play therapy, ensuring that rural children can access age-appropriate mental healthcare closer to home.
The Children’s Guild Foundation is a dedicated partner of The ROC. In addition to this generous grant, The Children’s Guild Foundation was a major donor to The ROC’s Capital Campaign, naming The Children’s Guild Foundation Play Area in The ROC’s waiting room, as well as providing previous programmatic support to The ROC. This continued support has made a significant impact for The ROC and the families served there. The Children’s Guild Foundation is a true partner in helping break the cycle of rural poverty, recognizing that doing so includes helping children address their mental health needs.
The Rural Outreach Center provides counseling, play therapy, care coordination, mentoring, tutoring, and other services to help families living in rural poverty move toward self-sufficiency. We assist, empower, and elevate.
