Rural Outreach Center plans back-to-school event

Each year, the Rural Outreach Center (ROC) in East Aurora provides school supplies to local students through its Back Pack Program. This year’s invitation-only event, for active ROC families, will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora, 24 Paine St.

Students invited to the party receive a brand new backpack filled with much-needed school supplies, free hair styling courtesy of volunteer hair professionals, a school photo, eye exam and a dental care kit. In addition, the children will be receiving new shoes, funded by The Buffalo Bills Foundation, and can create crafts while enjoying refreshments.

Major donors include:
• America’s Best
• Andrew’s Barber Parlor
• Aurora Smiles Pediatric Dentistry
• The Buffalo Bills Foundation
• East Aurora Boys and Girls Club
• Rural Outreach Center Staff
• Shoes That Fit
• Terry’s Photo Studio
• Vidler’s 5 & 10
• And many wonderful volunteers

The ROC, a nonprofit organization offering a wide variety of social services for those living in Western New York’s rural communities, is honored to help these great kids prepare for the new school year and would like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible.
