ROC receives grant from CVS Health supporting community needs amid COVID-19 outbreak

The Rural Outreach Center (ROC) in East Aurora has received a $1,000 mini-grant from CVS Health, administered by United Way of New York State, supporting its response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The grant is part of more than $1 million CVS Health and its foundations have given to address food insecurity and other community needs in response to the challenges presented by the pandemic.

“The timing of this grant is absolutely perfect as we are seeing a real uptick in the number of ROC participants,” said Rural Outreach Center Executive Director Frank Cerny. “The intent of the grant is to make available personal care items, and that’s very important during this crisis as people are making choices to buy food instead of such items. This, along with community donations, is helping us close that gap. We truly appreciate the support CVS Health and the Untied Way have provided to help our organization respond to COVID-19.”
