Bills Mafia Encouraging Support for the Rural Outreach Center in Honor of Steve Tasker
The Bills Mafia is at it again and showing how much they love the Bills and the Western New York
Community. Reminiscent of the hundreds of thousands of dollars the Bills Mafia faithful raised for The Patricia Allen Fund, the
Mafia is now asking for donations of $8.90 to be made to the Rural Outreach Center in honor of Steve Tasker, former Buffalo Bills
and All-pro special teams player.
The @BillsMafiaBabes tweeted: The Taskers are incredibly charitable and have also identified this cause that they have been
involved with from the ground up! Take your pick, they’re both incredibly deserving of the funding! The post included a link to the
Rural Outreach Center page theroc.co/tasker/. Tasker also promoted the effort during the show One Bills Live airing on MSG and
WGR 550.
Located outside East Aurora, the ROC’s mission is to assist, empower and elevate the impoverished rural populations in southern
Erie County and surrounding areas. The organization’s staff and volunteers serve with compassion, empathy, and respect for all
people. For children, the ROC’s goal is to break the cycle of multi-generational poverty by providing counseling, play therapy,
educational opportunities, and programs.
“More than 45,000 people live in poverty in the rural areas of WNY.” commented Frank J. Cerny, M.Div., Executive Director, Rural
Outreach Center. “ROC’s mission and model are focused on providing support services and teaching self-sufficiency to end the
multi-generational cycle of poverty.”
