Rural Outreach Center to offer five-week diabetes program

The Rural Outreach Center (ROC) is inviting individuals who have diabetes, and their caregivers, to learn more about this medical condition through discussion and activity. During five sessions beginning Oct. 4 and running through Nov. 1, conversations and activities will focus on diet, exercise and medication, all of which impact this condition.

Additionally, handouts will be provided to help individuals with diabetes live and manage their life successfully. Classes will be taught by Don Birdd, a retired science professor from Buffalo State College who has lived with diabetes for over 18 years.

Classes will be held at the Rural Outreach Center, 730 Olean Road, East Aurora, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Please register in advance by calling Don at 652-8197 or Ruthie at 220-4834.

For more information on the ROC, please call 240-2220. You can also follow the ROC on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Rural-Outreach-Center/497751720285555/ for frequent updates.
